A Windows-inspired PS5 homebrew OS bringing 32-bit and 64-bit Windows gaming to console hardware through a custom Wine/Proton compatibility stack and native Vulkan graphics.
Release notes
A hotfix for Alpha 5. If MihawkOS showed every payload as "Missing" even though they were loaded, or games could not start with "No access to /data", this fixes it. Everything else is the same as Alpha 5.
What's fixed
- MihawkOS gets its access to
/dataeven whendev.confis missing or points somewhere unreachable. Its access helper used to quit at once when it could not reach its log server (set in/data/homebrew/dev.conf), so MihawkOS never got access to your files. The helper now keeps running and writes its log to a file instead. You no longer need to create or fixdev.conf. - The payload checklist tells you what's really wrong. When MihawkOS cannot see your payloads because it has no access to
/data, the checklist no longer calls every payload "Missing". It says what is blocking it, and how to fix it.
Played on the console
Standard PS5, firmware 13.60, with the payloads loaded through Payload Manager:
- A
dev.confpointing at an address nobody answers (the reported case): the access helper kept running, MihawkOS got/data, and the payload checklist passed. - The full test battery of 104 cases: 102 passed, the other two skipped by a test-network setting (
alpha5-hotfix-base-2026-10-29-01). The payload checklist passed at every one of its 143 starts.
Installing or updating
New install: the same as Alpha 5: copy PPSA99170 to /data/homebrew/, open MihawkOS, and the guided setup installs the runtime from a USB drive or over FTP.
Updating from Alpha 5 (or Alpha 4):
- Replace the
PPSA99170folder in/data/homebrew/with the new one. - Put the new runtime pieces on your USB drive (the
mihawkosfolder from the runtime zip), or have them ready for FTP.

Safety
- Leaves the sandbox
- 4 helper(s) not reviewed
- Built by the developer
This app can get full access to the console, usually to read and write files outside its own folder. Install it only if you trust its developer.
It ships 4 helper program(s) that run outside the sandbox; 4 of them the catalog's maintainers have not read.
The developer built and uploaded this file by hand. Nothing ties it to the published source.
From an automatic scan of the release file, which is read and never run. It can miss things: it is not a guarantee. How the scan works
Install
Read the release notes and the project's documentation first. Some apps need extra setup, such as a payload, configuration or additional files, and the developer's instructions take precedence over the general steps below.
- Download
PS5_MihawkOS-v5.0.1-alpha-5-PPSA99170.zipand extract it on your computer. - Copy the extracted
PPSA99170/folder to/data/homebrew/on your PS5, for example over FTP. - A loader such as ShadowMountPlus picks it up. Launch MihawkOS from the home screen.
