Media Player Classic Home Cinema's window and controls as a native PS5 home-screen app (title ID PPSA99015), played by FFmpeg.

• Five languages: English (default), Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German: View > Options > Player > Language.
• ASS/SSA subtitles drawn by libass as they are authored: positions, styles, fonts, colours, outlines, rotation, karaoke and other effects, the MKV's attached fonts. A character the chosen font hasn't got comes from any loaded font that has it (for Chinese, Japanese or Korean, put a font for them in /data/mpcps5/fonts).
• Network passwords are kept out of mpc-hc.ini (in credentials.ini, owner-only) and shown as *** in the logs; a changed password never replaces the old one before the new settings are saved.
• Safer updates: HTTPS with the certificate checked, GitHub's SHA-256 required; files swapped with backups under a journal: a failed or interrupted install puts the old version back (also at the next start), and nothing is installed over an unfinished one. The payload repairs an unfinished update.
• Audio: the volume boost clips instead of crackling; the 8-channel port is asked for again if the console refuses it once.
• HDR: the tone-mapping threads are made once and kept.
• Hardware decoder: every picture's layout is checked before it is read; anything unexpected goes to FFmpeg.
• Debug logs off by default (debug_logs=1 in /data/mpcps5/mpc-hc.ini turns them on).
• The window is drawn twice a second when nothing is happening.

Files

• MediaPlayerClassicPS5-v1.2.3.elf: send it to your payload loader (port 9021). It installs the app, then stays as the helper that unlocks it.
